I rarely take the time to 'do' my hair. (Meaning; 'fix' an 'attachment' on)

So, when I finally did my hair as though I was some model on a runway, I took sparse shots of me on the days I felt like it.

Merit And An Orange.

One sunny morning, while playing outside grandma Dame's residence in Bayelsa State, Nigeria, I noticed how Merit sat oblivious of everyone else, enjoying an orange that her grandma Dame had prepared for her.

'THAT' NATURAL HAIR ADVENTURE!

In 2014, during my LLM sojourn in Aberdeen, I had a lightning-bolt moment. I realized I had always had my hair chemically processed since I was 16 years old. I needed to care for my hair better, I thought. I needed to do 'the' big chop and grow my hair out without chemicals...and I did.

These photos captures some of my awkward hair moments. As you can see, more than half of the time, I do not know what to do with it or how to style it. I am still loving my 'fro' though.

Few weeks after the big chop, I loved how easy hair care was then...I could just wash, comb and be done with it!

About 3 months later, hair is thicker and much more harder to comb through.

I didnt care though. I was almost always wearing gym tracks and hoodies anyway. ;-)

7 months post chop. I had found youtube videos on how to manage my hair then.

Merit's 'Gele' Reminiscence.

November, 2014.

Merit had walked up to her paternal grandma 'Kaka' one early Sunday morning. She wanted grandma's headgear. She really wanted to accessorize her onesie, supported only by her other constant attire, a size 4 Huggies.

Grandma de-robbes the 'gele' for Merit even though it had taken her almost 30 minutes to done it.

I scampered for my camera and clicked away.

'Give me camera!' Merit screams minutes later. I obliged.

Graduation 2014. LLM Oil and Gas Law!

So, this is considerably a late post. My graduation ceremony, after successfully completing a Masters degree in Oil and Gas Law at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland, held on the 8th of December, 2014. I was accompanied by my Merit and older sister, Dr Miebimo Jane Igali.

I did not intend to make a photospeak of my tortuous journey to an LLM only. I should write a proper article, possibly something nostalgic, but not now.
